M1T6.1
Instructions:
Open a world map or, if your family has only local connections, a detailed map of your country. You can use tools such as MapChart or Scribble Maps. Mark each country or region where a family member has a connection, including places where someone in your family was born, married, worked for an extended period, or moved to live. Next to each marked location, add notes on the family connection, describing who the person is and their relationship to you.
Reflect on how these connections may have influenced your family by answering the following questions:
How has this place influenced your family’s values, customs, or traditions?
Are there specific cultural practices, languages, or foods from this place that your family has adopted?
If the place is in your own country, what regional differences are characteristic? Describe any unique customs, dialects, or traditions that might have been adopted from that area.
Finally, compare these influences and explain how exposure to different cultures, regions, or traditions has enriched (or perhaps challenged) your family’s identity and cultural understanding.
